Free Deal of the Week: The 4-hour Chef Audiobook
This week’s free deal of the week is the audiobook version of The 4-hour Chef by Tim Ferriss.
I did buy Ferriss’ debut book in the 4-hour series, the 4-hour workweek and 4-hour body several years ago and liked them a lot. In fact, I recommended the latter to two overweight friends who both lost more than 20 kilograms of weight when they changed their diet to what the book suggested.
The main idea behind the 4-hour series is to achieve results quickly. The 4-Hour Chef is not a cookbook but more of a cooking class that lists more than recipes. It is more a cooking class that uses recipes to teach core cooking concepts such as braising or using the knife efficiently.
The audiobook, just like the paperback, begins with a meta-learning part in which he describes his method of learning new things. If you read another Ferriss book before you know what to expect from it even though you won’t find any recipe listed in that section yet.
This begins with The Domestic part of the book in which you find cooking skills instructions that teach you those skills in a different way than cookbooks usually do.
The download of the audiobook is a bit on the heavy side as it has a total size of 238 Megabytes. When you unpack it, you get six files (an introduction and the five main chapters of the book) which are packed as well.
Each chapter unpacks to its own folder with several mp3 files listed in it.
