App user reviews:

I use Google maps on the road but offroad I need an alternative. The maverick interface is clean and intuitive and I really like it. To me it is ‘backcountry navigator‘ with a much improved interface. It does a lot and works very nicely but it lacks some important features. I am struggling to import gpx/kmz/kml files which is the main reason I do not use this. I would also like alternative maps for offline use. It is cleaner than orux maps or other alternatives but inability to import is the downside. -Joe

Great GPS Track mapper for hikes and canoe floats. I got Maverick Pro to track my progress between two known points on the river. I can hover over any spot on my track to see the distance from the beginning to that spot and from there to the end. Also my average speed at any point and the elapsed time. You can download the maps and aerial photos as you plan your trip then when you’re out of signal range or turn on airplane mode, the data is cached for use. Just don’t shut down the app! -Michael

The ability to download maps in app for download is great. It would be nice, however, if the page allowing this would show those already downloaded. Also you can’t scroll around on that page. You must frame your map before visiting that page. Otherwise brilliant app. -Ryan
